It's the silliest story, which is pretty fun, and it works. I bought the Kindle edition, and studied the first 10 for about 5 min. You can't get the visuals out of your head thereafter. And I can remember the order. This is exactly what the book advertisement said- memorize the periodic table. Now, if you want to be able to do it out of order, or recall other details, you need to do other things. But this is a great beginning. I highly recommend it for middle school and high school chemistry teachers. It's FUN!
This gem of a book contains a very high-quality mnemonic for the periodic table. The mnemonic is in the form of a strange story, kind of like a modern fairy tale, in which the characters and events represent the elements of the periodic table in order of atomic number. I used it to memorize the names and atomic numbers of the first 20 elements in about 20 minutes. A friend quizzed me afterwards and I got perfect.
Absolutely love this book. It's a fun way to memorize the elements in order. My 10 year old borrowed it and enjoyed it too. Highly recommend this book. I can't seem to hold on to it when sharing with young curious minds. I will be ordering this book again!
This book is pretty good for trying to teach students how to memorize anything really. I teach High Functioning Autistic kid and this memorization techniques works. I purchased this specifically to teach The Periodic Table because its a lot of information to learn in just a few weeks.
Totally completely awesome. My daughter is using this and it really is helping her memorize the periodic table. Only wish I had something like this back in the stone ages when I had to take Chemistry. Well worth the purchase price the memory tools really do work.
I memorized the entire periodic table after reading it. My 6th grade students memorized it automatically (till 36) after I told them the story (till 36).

Then we're led on a trip through the table, covering specific examples of how to memorize the elements in order. There are more tips at the end suggesting how to do more, like remembering the mass or group of the elements. The presentation is quite basic, but the methods are well applied.
This book delivers what it promises. Spend a little money and save yourself a lot of work. Amust for science lovers.
